This Ikaros Buoyant Smoke is designed to be easy and safe to handle, is globally approved and meets the latest SOLAS 74/96 regulations. The steel case is corrosion resistant and comes with clear simple instructions. To deploy, open the lid, pull the ring and then throw the distress signal into the water. Once it has been activated the Ikaros Buoyant Smoke will float and produces a dense orange smoke for a minimum of 3 minutes to mark your location.
It provides effective position marking during daytime distress and rescue operations and can be used to indicate wind direction.
